Baseball Bat Rules

Beginning with the 2019 Washington baseball season, the league will be adopting the USA
baseball bat standards for all divisions. Bats that do not have the USA Certified Baseball
(USABat) certification (see examples below), BBCOR stamp or is a wood bat are not permitted to be used during league
practices or games.

League umpires and managers from opposing teams may request to inspect team bats during a
stoppage of play during a game if an illegal bat is suspected. If a bat that is not permitted is used
during a game, the batter will be called out immediately. If a batter is discovered to have used an
illegal bat after they have reached base safely, all runners will return to their original base(s) and
the batter will be called out.

If a team continues to violate this rule and uses illegal bats in game play after a single violation,
the team may be required to forfeit the game(s) when illegal bats were used as determined by
the division commissioner.
